Fees and Insurance

Fees: Sessions are $195 for a 50-minute session.

Insurance: We are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. If you wish to use your out-of-network benefits:

  1. Verify coverage first: Contact your insurance company before your appointment to confirm they will reimburse for out-of-network mental health services.
  2. Payment: You pay the full session fee at the time of service.
  3. Superbill: We will provide you with a detailed receipt (superbill) after each session that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
  4. Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for verifying coverage and submitting claims. Feel Happy Counseling cannot guarantee reimbursement and assumes no liability if your insurance company denies or reduces payment.

Important considerations when using insurance:

  • Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to process claims, which becomes a permanent part of your medical record.
  • Insurance claims may be subject to audits, which could require release of your clinical records to the insurance company.
  • Many clients prefer private pay to maintain complete privacy and avoid having a diagnosis on their permanent record.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy: Please provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. For the purposes of this policy, cancellations and reschedules are treated identically and both require 48 hours advance notice.

  • Late Cancellations/Reschedules: Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice will be charged 50% of the full session fee.
  • No Shows: Missed appointments without any notice will be charged 50% of the full session fee.
  • Monday Appointments: Must be cancelled or rescheduled by 4:00 PM the preceding Friday.
  • Late Arrivals: If you arrive late to your appointment, the session will still end at the scheduled time. Extra time cannot be added to the end of the session.

Repeated Cancellations/No Shows: If you cancel, reschedule with less than 48 hours notice, or miss appointments more than 3 times within a 12-month period, future sessions will require full prepayment at the time of booking and will be non-refundable.
